Is Vernac really free?

Yes. The free plan isn’t a trial — it’s a full daily vocabulary habit with unlimited words, practice, streaks, and collections, forever. Pro adds the personalization layer: AI-written context, all practice modes, widgets, and the level test.

How is this different from a word-of-the-day app?

Word-of-the-day apps show everyone the same word with the same dictionary sentence. Vernac chooses words for you and writes examples set in your life — then brings them back on a schedule proven to build long-term memory. One informs. The other trains.

What is spaced repetition?

Your brain forgets on a predictable curve. Spaced repetition interrupts that curve by reviewing a word right before you’d lose it — first after a day, then days, then weeks. Vernac uses the SM-2 algorithm to time this automatically. You just swipe.

I’m studying for the GRE / SAT / IELTS / TOEFL. Will this help?

That’s exactly what the test word banks are for. Pick your exam during onboarding and your feed fills with high-frequency test words — in memorable context, on a memory-optimized schedule.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions. Canceling keeps Pro active until the end of your billing period.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account, then tap "Restore purchases" in Vernac’s settings.

How do I delete my account?

Visit our account deletion page or delete directly in-app under Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your data.

Does Vernac work offline?

Your daily queue is downloaded ahead of time, so your session works without a connection. New AI-generated context syncs when you’re back online.
